It may also
reflect day to day function
—you tell a story,
for instance,
a kid, it’s night,
a four year old son
sees something that is even
scary to me:
the closet doors open,
you can't see
the clothes
and so there is
nothing
in that shadow
—the kid sees a vague kind
of shape
—what they see
is a product
of organizing things,
a sky
full of darkness looking
like a variety
of factors
as he pulls the cord
for the light bulb
